I like the juxtaposition of the word silencio with her rather “loud” dress. On another note, I have been wondering . . . have you ever considered using some of your wonderful self-portraits as source material for one of your photo collages? It could be very liberating . . . just a thought.

yes, the red dress is important to the piece, it’s loud and powerful. This is a very personal piece. All my artworks are self portraits in some ways, and I don’t use myself because I don’t want my work to be conceptual.. but perhaps I could make one, it would be a fun challenge…

i have mixed emotions about slencio …….sadness at the way she is a puppet being told what to do with out being able to speak out …….. if i could i would reach in and set her free……. but then again happiness because she is no longer that trapped little girl she has cut her strings and set her self free she has now grown into a strong woman stevie
