“the demons in my paintings are personal and I paint them so I can face them and liberate myself from their existence. If we all did that, there would be less pain and anger in the world. I also believe it’s important to hold on to the inner child and acknowledge its wounds and dreams. This is why I often use child-like characters in my art.” – Mia Makila
